From Busser to General Manager

Young Kent spreading holiday cheer

You might say Kent Walker grew up at Victor’s. He first became aware of it when he was 13 and came along with his mother for dinner. “I remember her saying it was more than just dinner. She called it an experience,” Kent shares.  In the fall of 2014, as he began his senior year of high school, Kent got his first job as a busser at Victor’s. And from there he worked his way through every aspect of the business while also working his way through high school (Red Lion class of 2015) and college (Penn State class of 2019).

Today he’s the General Manager of Victor’s and his mother’s description of the Victor’s experience is something that has stuck with Kent. “Sure you can go out and grab dinner at lots of places, but at Victor’s it more than just food,” he promises. “It’s an experience you can’t get anywhere else.”

Kent says it’s the people, the servers, and the staff from top to bottom that makes it an experience. “From the back of house to the front of house. People know they are going to get the same attention, the same food, and the same level of service as a first-time customer or if they are here every week.” He says that the patrons are very appreciative of Victor’s attentive staff. “Our servers are always making sure customers are having the best experience they can. We’re good at that. We always do our best to meet the needs of our patrons. We want to please.”

Kent also believes it’s the atmosphere that makes Victor’s special. Victor’s offers three distinct dining areas all offering the same menu. And Victor’s now takes reservations for all three areas. “With us taking bar and outside dining reservations it has changed how people want to come. People really appreciate being able to reserve at the bocce court, outside, and even bar seats. We enjoy seating people where they’re most comfortable.”

Bartending

Kent thinks that part of Victor’s charm is the off the beaten path location.  He calls it a “little known secret” as Victor’s is off the main road on a quiet, peaceful neighborhood street, and hidden by the trees in season. He shares, “The best part of my job is when first time patrons enter saying, ‘We never knew this was here.’ And then they leave saying, ‘We’ll be back! We loved it!’”

Whether a regular or first timer, take a night out at Victor’s for a birthday celebration, business meeting, or just because. Kent and the entire Victor’s staff look forward to making your experience a memorable one. Reservations are suggested and can be made online or by calling after 3:30pm to reserve your dining room, bar, or outdoor seat. Be sure to say “Hi!” to Kent.
